Meet our team! We are proud to have a young and dynamic team who are all passionate bike riders themselves. If you’ve ridden the trails around Stellenbosch, chances are you will have seen them out riding – even Kobus!
Meet the Team
Dewald is our lead salesperson and heads up the workshop. He is known as Mr Do-it-all and there’s not often a bike related problem he can’t fix! Dewald has been involved with the store for going on 10 years and is well known around Stellenbosch, most notably for being Kobus’ owner. His bike of choice is the Trek Rail 9.8.

Thando has got over 10 years of experience working as a bike technician in our store, he has grown into an experienced mechanic that we have come to rely on. Thando is an accomplished rider in his own right with a Cape Epic and multiple Wines2Whales races under his belt, as well as being the Captain of the Fairtree Racing team. His bike of choice is the Trek Top Fuel 9.8.

Jordan joined our team after working in bike shops in the UK for a couple of years. He has been with us for going on 2 years and has provided immense value from day1. In the time he has been with us he has grown into our lead mechanic and his perfectionism and professionalism make him not only a great mechanic, but great with our customers too. Jordan’s bike of choice is a custom built Trek Fuel EX.

Frankie started out her involvement with the store as one of the store ambassadors and his since grown into a full time position. She takes charge of the behind-the-scenes work such as the inventory and social media - all the great in-store pictures you see on our Instagram are taken by her. She is an accomplished rider and racer in her own right, being the current Downhill and Enduro National Elite Women’s Champion. Her bike of choice is the Trek Slash 9.8.

Shop Manager
Bongani is the magician behind all the clean bikes that come out of our store. He is our bike washer and does some of the workshop tasks and is integral to the smooth running of the workshop! Bongani’s bike of choice is the Trek Procaliber

Kobus our much loved Shop Dog. He is our hardest working employee, and by far the cutest! His official title is Customer Relations and Head of marketing, as he is always ready to welcome our customers in with a wag of his tail and a bolt picked up off the workshop floor, and he keeps our customers coming back!

Trek has grown from humble beginnings to one of the biggest bicycle manufactures and retailers in the world, also supporting bike racing through factory teams in every discipline raced on a bicycle.
The only thing that goes better together than bikes and beer, is bikes and coffee, and that’s why we have an in-house coffee shop. We have partnered with local coffee company, 18Coffee, who help keep both our customers and our staff fuelled with their incredible coffee.
We are proud to partner with the Hellsend Dirt Compound and The Trails Crew. The Dirt Compound is privately owned and is located in the Banhoek valley, boasting one of the best networks of gravity trails and dirt jumps in South Africa.
